Sophie and the Rising Sun (2016) dir. Maggie Greenwald Set in the autumn of 1941 in Salty Creek, a fishing village in South Carolina, the film tells the dramatic story of interracial lovers swept up in the tides of history. As World War II rages in Europe a wounded Asian stranger, Mr. Ohta, appears in the town under mysterious circumstances. Sophie, a native of Salty Creek, quickly becomes transfixed by Mr. Ohta and a friendship born of their mutual love of art blossoms into a delicate and forbidden courtship.

Main Street Don't miss this outdoor showing of the Texas movie classic, "Urban Cowboy." Including a social with a Texas BBQ dinner by KB's BBQ before the movie. Texas wines and beers will also be available... This event is a fundraiser for the local Texas Exes Scholarship Fund to benefit our area students that attend The University, brought to you with the support of the Victoria Film Society.
